Address finder doesn't work as expected - can I disable?

Hi,

I can’t find any forum posts or maybe I’m the only one with this problem, but my address finder isn’t working as I would expect.
When I select an address from the finder suggestions, it skips filling the city field and incorrectly fills the Provence / State field. Here is a screencast of my troubles: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16LJ930RelmzfR4A0OTWStHkwHPi7fmlj/view

Can this be configured somewhere? Or can I right out disable the address finder somewhere and ask people to manually enter address since they have to do this anyway and clicking on the finder is just an extra step in their journey?

Thank you very much,
Zanete

Hey @zaneteknits,

We’re working on improving the address autocomplete results. It works well in North America, but we do have some issues for addresses in Europe and other countries outside NA.

We can disable the feature for your account, I suggest you send us an email to support@snipcart.com, make sure to provide the email address associated to your account.

Hello, friends! If anyone else needs to disable the autocomplete addresses feature, it is also possible to do it through Snipcart customization. I managed to do it with these instructions: Customization – Snipcart Documentation (Snipcart v3).

Hello

I think I’m experiencing the same thing here: https://www.zuckermausbakery.com/

(Please use 215 Attercliffe Road, Sheffield as the address)

The look up works well, however on selecting an address the city is simply removed then the user is asked to add it in.

Has this been looked into for EU addresses? The lookup is great and finds the right address, but it’s annoying for the user to then have to manually add the address in?

Yes I think this is a similar issue. In that instance, the address autocomplete service somehow fails to parse the city field correctly. We do plan to make improvements to this (functional + UX) so the flow goes more smoothly.

I don’t suppose there’s a timeline for fixing the autocomplete for Europe is there? It seems to be broken in the manner mentioned above for any address in the UK, as far as I can tell. The autocomplete finds the correct address, but the city is not populated despite it appearing in the dropdown.

The fix should roll out in our next release!

That’s great, thanks!
