Customer not able to checkout - troubleshooting ideas?

The customer gets through the checkout process to the point where they enter their credit card information.

Once they press Place Order nothing happens. No errors.

The customer’s cart is now listed as abandoned.
The developer log shows the page being refreshed several times at the time that they were trying.

What can I do to troubleshoot ?

I have successfully ordered an item in test mode - so the problem seems confined to production!

While going through the checkout process in production I noticed numerous error reports when snipcart was trying to fetch from stripe.
