Double Billing for single subscriber

We are having issues where Snipcart randomly double-bills a subscriber when he or she is the only susbcriber. For example, a user subscribes on the 18th of May and he is billed monthly. In June, Snipcart randomly charges the customer on the 9th of May and then again on his normal payment date of the 18th. We are seeing this behavior with about 15% of customers.
