How can I delete products from the Snipcart store. Once they are fetched from my frontend they seem to stay forever. I am still in test mode so i need to delete test products.
Hi there,
You can archive products by opening the product details page in the dashboard. You will find the archive button on the top right.
Hi Lea, thanks for your answer. Yes, I can archive a product, but are the deleted the same time? Archive sound as if they can be activated again. So how to reactivate archived products and how to completely delete them. Thanks, Pieter
Hi there,
There is only an archive option. Since the product’s source of truth is your markup, this means that if you archive a product then refetch it will be unarchived. There is no way to completely delete a product since they live inside your markup.
Hi Lea,
Thanks. Ok, I think my misunderstandig is because I might be biased. I will try to explain: basically I have one product: a loaf of bread. I am baking and selling this bread on a daily basis, but for now only on Friday and Saturday. The product and the price are the same, but the batches are different. So maybe on a Friday I bake 100 loafs and on a Saturday 200 loafs. Therefore I was thinking of defining them as different products, with different Id’s, like: roozenbrood-v for Friday and roozenbrood-z for Saturday. Now what if I change baking shifts to Thursday instead of Friday? In my mind I would delete roozenbrood-v and create a roozenbrood-d (Thursday) in my backend. When I refetch the products, roozenbrood-d is created, but roozenbrood-v is still there. Now I can archive roozenbrood-v and cannot re-archive it back anymore, right? Does archive now mean: delete? Sorry for the long argument.
Does archive now mean: delete?
Archived products will not appear in the dashboard, nor in the api.
Then what is the use of archiving? PLEASE explain in some more detail!
