Problem integrating paypal

I have created a paypal API Key , API Indentifier
and and signature in my paypal account settings OrgUnit ID

However when I click connect I get the following message

Invalid Cardinal Commerce credentials – make sure to use production credentials

Is it manditory that i have a Cardinal commerce account or can i just not connect via paypal directly without Cardinal Commerce?

We have PayPal integrated and I have no idea what Cardinal Commerce is. So you certainly don’t need it! Should be able to go direct with PayPal.
