Reserve payment for product, but do not capture before product is dispatched

So I’ve been busy trying out a few things in snipcart, and it seems pretty good. I however, have one hurdle to get over.

When customers buy a physical product i need to reserve the payment on the users card, but I cannot actually capture the money, before I hit ‘dispatched’ as per legal requirements.

Is this doable in snipcart? It seems to take the money directly which is not legal in my jurisdiction.

We can enable authorize / capture on your account. This isn’t something that can be configured from the dashboard just yet.

Hi Charles,

This works now. Snipcart also sends users an ‘order received’ email. However, when I captured the payment I (as test customer) did not receive the invoice after the payment was captured.

I think it is expected behaviour to get this email at this point, but I could be wrong.

Please enlighten me either way :slight_smile:
